Aurum (Latin for Gold), so named by the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio, because of the yellow colour of the liquid, partially obtained through the use of saffron, is distilled from Abruzzo oranges blended with brandy, herbs and fruit and then aged in oak casks. The form of the bottle is based on that of a wine flask unearthed at Pompeii.
