A late-1960s to early-1970s bottling of Plymouth Dry Gin, made by Coates & Co. (Plymouth) Ltd. for export to the US market. As a Protected Geographical Indication, Plymouth Gin can only be made in Plymouth, Devon and this particular gin features on its label the eponymous friar of the Black Friars Distillery where this gin was - and continues to be - produced.
Harry Craddock's famous 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book lists Plymouth Gin specifically in 23 cocktail recipes, including the Tom Collins, Singapore Sling, Orange Blossom and the White Lady.
