J.A. Dougherty's Sons Bottled-In-Bond Rye Whiskey 1916: The distillery of Irish immigrant John Alexander Dougherty was founded in 1949 and built one year later on Spruce Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He distilled mainly rye whiskies, and was very good at it. In 1866 John Dougherty died leaving his sons in control of the distillery. During prohibition it is clear that they received whiskies for medicinal bottling from other distilleries, including Old Overholt.

This bottle of J.A. Dougherty Son's Pure Rye Whiskey was bottled in 1930, but it was distilled in 1916 by Overholt.
