A resplendent cognac from Rogalle Frères. Distilled in 1865 we believe it was aged up to forty years, and bottled after 1900. The hand-blown glass bottle, complete with air-bubbles, has a pontil scar to the top of the raised heel.
This cognac was produced before the Phylloxera epidemic of the late-19th century, which only adds to its quality and rarity.
The Emperor referred to in the name is of course Napoléon III (ruled 1852-70)!
