Popular in Southern Bulgaria near Greece and Turkey, this Balkan drink is similar to Ouzo or Raki. Traditionally it's left in the freezer until crystals form and then it's served cold with water for diluting like Pernod and ayram, a natural set yogurt with water and salt. We find it quite nice simply sipped neat from the freezer with smoked salmon, blini and all the traditional sides!
