In 1895 Walter & Albert Gilbey started to distill gin, having previously been established as wine importers and latterly proprietors of two whisky distilleries in Scotland.

A bottle of Gilbey's Sloe Gin from the inter-War period is a rare best indeed!

The liquid is clear and a gorgeous dark ruby colour!
